Centenary grew from a rich Methodist heritage that dates back to very early days when this part of Kentucky was settled. Methodists started congregating in Shelby County in the late 1700s. We invite you to learn more about Centenary's vivid history including when the church was burned to the ground three days after Christmas in 1978, just months after the congregation invested $80,000 for a renovation. But that didn't stop us -- the church was rebuilt and grew into the vibrant community church that it is today.
